Franchise is a commercial instrument where the business owner (the franchisee) allows another person (the grantee), By trading in its goods or services in accordance with the franchisor’s business plan and by using the franchisor’s trademark in exchange for franchising fees from the franchisor. Definition of franchising according to the Egyptian Franchise Development Association (EFDA) is a business relationship in which the franchisor (the business owner who provides the product or service) assigns independent persons (granted) the right to market, sell, distribute the franchisor’s product/service and use the trade name for a specified period of time.
